Introducing Mr. Biswa B. Mohanty, a distinguished professional with over 37 years of extensive experience in rural finance policy development, livelihood promotion, microfinance, financing of the rural firm/non-firm agriculture sector, and institutional development. His illustrious career has seen him contribute to esteemed organizations such as Utkal University, Orissa Finance Service (OFS), Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL), Reserve Bank of India (RBI), and National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) before joining the Ahdikar board.

During his remarkable 28-year tenure at NABARD, Mr. Mohanty served as the Chief General Manager, leading crucial departments and playing a pivotal role in shaping the organization's direction. He emerged as a key advocate for the SHG – Bank linkage program, spearheading the Micro-Credit Innovation Department until his retirement on March 31, 2010. Throughout his career, Mr. Mohanty actively participated in various committees, working groups, and task forces convened by NABARD and other influential organizations. His expertise and dedication have significantly contributed to the advancement of rural finance and microcredit initiatives.
